LANGTANG VALLEY TREK – 14 DAYS

As you land at Kathmandu international airport, our representative will receive you.

After welcoming you to Nepal, the staff will escort you to the hotel in a private vehicle.

In 30 minutes drive, enjoy the view of the street of Kathmandu.

After checking in the hotel, freshen up from the long travel. Then, you can explore the areas near the hotel. You can also do some shopping around the place.

Our guide can help you with shopping as well.

In the evening, we arrange a welcome dinner for you. This will be our first meal as a team. You will get a short brief about the Langtang Trek. Later, you can enjoy the nightlife of Kathmandu.

After early morning breakfast, our guide picks you up from your hotel. Then, we begin our drive from Kathmandu. The trek to Syabru Besi takes about 9 hours.

We head north of Kathmandu as we drive through the scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas. Passing via Dhunche, we reach Syabru Besi.

While driving along the bank of Trishuli, you might catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, green hills, and terraces.

The long drive can be tiresome, but the beautiful views will keep you relaxed. As you reach Syabru Besi, you check in to your first tea house.

Today, we commence the trek after breakfast. The initial part of the path crosses via Bhote Koshi. Then our trail follows the Langtang Khola.

Then, we gradually ascend to the forest of Bamboo passing through landslides. Trekking down gently to Rimche through Bamboo takes us to the bank of Langtang Khola.

In the route, you might encounter red pandas, bears, and monkeys. The overall trek shouldn’t take us more than six hours.

This is the initial part of the journey and is comparatively easier.

We stop over a tea house in Lama Hotel that provides some basic facilities for dinner and night’s sleep.

We wake up early in the morning to enjoy the clear view of the mountain vistas. As you continue walking, occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung is visible between the trees.

The initial part of the climb to Ghora Tabela can be quite tough. At Ghora Tabela the path emerges from the forest. Here, we might encounter some white monkeys and local birds.

After some rest, we move ahead of the place. The path continues as the valley widens and passes a few temporary settlements.

These places are used by herders to bring the livestock to graze in the pasture’s land during the summer months.

After about six hours of walk, we arrive at Langtang Village. The village of Langtang has a monastery we can all visit. The Langtang village is the centre of the Langtang National Park.

The houses suited in the village of Langtang is a flat-roofed Tibetan style. The houses are surrounded by the stone walls- enclosed by the fields of buckwheat, wheat, potatoes, turnips, and barley.

You can take our time to explore the village.

Today is a short day of the climb. You can walk slowly and let your body have enough rest.

We begin the walk after breakfast in the morning. The path climbs through the small villages and different yak pastures.

Eventually, the valley opens to give more extensive views. After crossing the different small streams and moraines, the path reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. Kyangjin has a small monastery that we can visit. There is also a government-operated cheese factory in the place.

We arrive at Kyangjin at the time of lunch. You can take enough time to explore the area.

At this point, you get to enjoy the panoramic view of Langtang Ri (6370m.), Dorje Larpa (6990m.), Langtang Lirung (7245m.) and so on.

For the rest of the day, we will enjoy some rest. You can also walk to the moraine to witness the spectacular views of tumbling glaciers or ascend via Kyangjin Ri.

After enjoying the breath-taking view of the Langtang peaks, we walk back to Kyangjin.

After exploring Kyangjin, we retrace our route back. Following the path to Langtang Khola, we reach Langtang village. This will take us about an hour.

Here, we stop for some rest before heading to Ghora Tabela. On the trail, the panoramic views of the mountain vistas will accompany us. Occasionally, we pass through the forests.

After lunch, you continue the path of steep descent to Lama Hotel. Since we have already known this place, we will rest in our tea house.

After breakfast in the morning, the trek begins. We commence our day with a climb to the Rimche Village.

Then, we walk down to the banks of the Langtang Khola. Continuing on a path to Bamboo, we ascend to Landslide Lodge.

After some hours of walk, we stop for lunch. Then, we continue to walk towards Thulo Syabru. After crossing a bridge, we can see two distinct paths.

We follow the trail that passes by Pahare hotel. Here, we can see the waterfall at 2210 m. Then we walk to Thulo Syabru.

Today is a very short day of the walk. It is not important to reach Gosaikunda on this day because of the steady gain. The slow walk also helps us acclimatize to the high altitude.

After trekking for some time, we pass by a Chorten and a checkpoint. Then, we move to the south as you pass Garta Village.

We will also visit the Phulung Monastery before we reach Shin Gompa. Here, there are many beautiful tea houses where we can stop for lunch.

For the initial hours of the day, we follow a trail with dramatic views. In the west, there is a Himal Chuli (7893m.), Ganesh Himal (7406m.), and Manaslu (8156m,).

On a clear day, you can also see the Annapurna range rising high. To the north, there is a Langtang Lirung.

The walk to the top of Lauribinayak La can be tough due to the steep trail. From the top, the view is stunning.

Passing a few huts located in the high pastures of Laurebina, we cross a small ridge. This is where we get the first glimpse of the holy lakes.

About a dozen lakes are visible in the Gosainkunda Basin. Lake such as Bharab Kunda, Saraswatikunda, and Gosainkunda are visible.

We walk down to Gosaikunda and explore the place. After getting refreshed, we visit all the nearby areas.

We wake up early in the morning and enjoy our breakfast. In the morning, the view of lakes and the giant Himalayan Peak in the mountain is even more prodigious.

We will take our time to enjoy the pristine view of nature. Then we leave Gosainkunda as we climb through the rugged country.

We walk past four other small lakes in the Laurebina La. 

The top of the path at 4610m is the highest point of the trek. As we stop for some rest, we get the spectacular views of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu.

We enjoy the familiar view of Langtang Lirung as we walk. Then, we descend to camp that is near Ghopte.

In the morning, we enjoy the spectacular view from Ghopte. The initial ascends through the rhododendron; oak and the bamboo forest take us to Tharepati.

From Tharepati, the path descends on the pine and rhododendron forest to Kutumsang. This is a beautiful Sherpa village that lies within the Helambu Valley. 

Here, we can get a spectacular view of Langtang, Numbur, Jugal, Gaurishankar and many other peaks. We can interact with the local people over the village and learn about their lifestyle.

Sherpa is the ethnic group of the Himalayan region who are known as “King of mountains”.

Overnight in Kutumsang.

The trek for the day begins after breakfast. From Kutumsang, we climb a pass of about 2620m.

Then, we descend to Gul Bhanjyang. Gul Bhanjyang homes the Tamang ethnic group.

Further, we ascend to a ridge witnessing the splendid views. 

We can see the Annapurna and Manaslu that starches in on the West and Numbur on the East.

Then, we descend on the ridge down to Pati Bhanjyang. This is another Tamang village that has a few shops and a checkpoint.

Another one and a half-hour of climb take us to Chisopani. This is an excellent viewpoint where we can witness many snow capped mountain peaks.

Leaving Chisopani, the path passes on meadows above the cultivated fields. Then, we climb on the Oak and Rhododendron forest.

The path then takes us to Burlang Bhanjyang. Then, we get the magnificent views of Annapurna on the West and Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Numbur on the East.

The ridge show Kathmandu Valley on the North. Now, we descend steeply on the dense forest of pine, rhododendron, and oak to cross a dam. 

We follow a water pipe that supplies water for most of the Kathmandu Valley.

Soon, we reach down into Sundarijal. This place is famous as a picnic spot for internal tourists. From Sundarijal, we drive back to Kathmandu.

The drive in a private vehicle shows most of the Kathmandu Valley.

In the evening, we can do some last-minute shopping in the Thamel. Thamel has a great collection of arts and crafts that could be a gift for yourself and your loved ones.

Then, we will together enjoy the farewell dinner. We will celebrate the wonderful journey we accomplished as a team.

After that, you can celebrate the nightlife of the Thamel area.

In the morning, you can enjoy a Nepalese breakfast for the last time. If you have some free time, you can also do some last-minute shopping in Thamel.
