ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP TREK – 13 DAYS

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, we will greet you at the airport and accompany you to the Hotel.

Overnight in Kathmandu.

We tour UNESCO World Heritage Sites today. These sites highlight Nepal’s cultural and religious heritages. Our first stop will be Kathmandu Durbar Square and then Swayambhunath Stupa, next is Pashupatinath Temple which is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus all over the world, followed by the Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath which is one of the largest stupas in the world. Lastly, in the late afternoon we visit our office for a brief orientation on our trek.

Early morning flight to Pokhara with your guide and meet your staff and drive to Nayapul (1070m). This drive will take 1 to 2 hours traffic depending. Then trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga (1540 m). This walk will take 3 to 4 hours.

After breakfast at Tikhedhunga, we start our journey to Ghorepani through the Ulleri, our journey begins after crossing a small suspension bridge and trail ascend steeply toward the Ulleri (2070m) which takes about 2 hours, and then gently passing through Banthanti, a beautiful Magar Village.

On the way you could see the gorgeous views of Fishtail Mountain, Hiunchuli and Annapurna South. Our lunch could be at Banthanti or Nangetahnti. After lunch and a short rest, your trail is quite easier passing through forest and descends gently up to the final destination of today, Ghorepani.

Early morning climb up to Poon Hill (3,210m) to see panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himalayan ranges as well as the sun rising over the Himalayas. Experiencing the great views of Himalayan panorama from Poon Hill, we descend to Ghorepani. After breakfast, continue downhill trek to Tadapani (2610 meter). The trail goes along the ridges of rhododendron and pine forest.

Today’s trail descends to Kimrong stream through the forest of rhododendron. We then walk towards Chhomrong (2020 meter), crossing through the Gurjung village. Chhomrong offers you close views of Mt. Annapurna south and Hiunchuli and the virgin peak, Fishtail (Machapuchare). Chhomrong is a beautiful village located on the lap of the giant Annapurna massive.

From Chhumrung the trail descends until Chhomrong Khola, and then the trail begins a slow climb as we head up to our first destination Sinuwa. We then proceed to Kuldi Ghar (2470m) about 2.5 to 3 hrs walking. The trek now enters the upper Modi Khola Valley. We can expect snow from here on in the winter months (Dec-Feb.)

We continue our trek going down to Bamboo through an uninhabited forest area, scattered with big rocks. From Bamboo the road will take us through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Doban (2540m) After climbing 300 meters up we will be at Himalayan Hotel.

After breakfast, we continue on to Hinko Cave (3100m) and then to Deurali.

During this day if we are lucky we can see interesting wildlife like deer, jackals and peacocks. Here we will also have great views of Machapuchare Mountain (6997m) and you will understand why the translation of its name means fishtail mountain.

We then climb on past the Machapuchare Base Camp (which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to the Annapurna Base Camp. This area is called the Annapurna Sanctuary since it is totally surrounded by mountains. From here it is a two-hour trek to Annapurna Base camp, which offers spectacular and mesmerising views of the Machapuchare, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other peaks.

Today we follow our way back to Bamboo, it’s easier as we descend the most part of our route. Trek back from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo.

Today, we follow our way back to Chhumrung and then an hour trek down to Jhinu Danda. There is hot spring 20 minutes or so from the hotel. Take a relaxing bath from natural hot spring to soothe any aches and pains in your body.

Today our journey starts along the right side of the Modi Khola through small villages and bamboo forests to Birethanti. This part of the journey is on relatively flat ground and is considered one of the most relaxing and enjoyable parts of your journey. Trek from Hot spring to Nayapul and then drive back to Pokhara. Explore Pokhara and overnight at Hotel.

Morning flight to Kathmandu, transfer from airport to hotel and afterwards, you will have a free day for last-minute shopping.

According to the flight schedule, transfer to the airport and fly home with beautiful memories of Nepal.
